I continue to design actively while leading creative teams, shaping creative vision, and building the structures and environments that allow people and ideas to do their best work. I work across both concept and execution, moving between hands-on design and creative leadership depending on what the work requires. I’ve led creative and design teams, built departments from the ground up, and developed branding and campaign projects for international companies. My approach combines strategic thinking with a strong focus on craft: bringing diverse perspectives together around a clear vision, creating space for experimentation, and helping ambitious ideas become meaningful, well-crafted work. Teaching and mentoring are also an integral part of my practice. For the past four years, I’ve taught at one of Paris’ leading fashion colleges, leading collective projects and working one-on-one with students to help them develop their creative identity and confidence. I also mentor designers and emerging creatives, with a focus on thoughtful feedback. I see leadership and mentorship as an extension of design: creating the conditions for ideas, people, and practices to evolve. My design foundation is deliberately multidisciplinary. I studied design and architecture at the University of São Paulo and fashion design at ESMOD Paris, experiences that taught me to move fluidly between disciplines, mediums, and scales. I see each as a different language—with its own rhythm and syntax, and draw on that range to connect strategy, concept, and execution. It’s a big ask, but with the right support, it can be a joyful process. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Technical skills and methods for sparking creativity can be taught. Identity, on the other hand, is something revealed—through practice, reflection, and persistence. Like learning a language, you need fluency before you can truly express yourself. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; That gap between vision and execution can be uncomfortable—but it’s also a crucial moment to persist. Here’s what I encourage: &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 1. Choose a trusted mentor A good mentor helps reveal your identity through feedback and reflection—a kind of human mirror. You need to trust both the person and the process. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 2. Experiment freely You don’t need to know exactly who you are yet. This is a time for exploration. Take on assignments with curiosity. Try different styles, approaches, ideas. Then do it again. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 3. Spot the patterns After a few projects, step back with your mentor and look for recurring elements. In my experience, something always repeats—whether it's a theme, a shape, or a way of thinking. These patterns are clues to your identity coming through. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 4. Embrace what you find As your identity becomes clearer, resist the temptation to compare yourself to others. You might admire their work—but you’re not them. And that’s a good thing. It feels like a good moment to revisit the “get off Pinterest” debate.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; It’s become surprisingly easy to spot when someone’s sources of inspiration are limited to the usual image-curation platforms. Not because the images are bad, quite the opposite: they’re often beautiful, coherent, and very easy to turn into a convincing selection.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The problem is that coherence isn’t the same thing as a point of view.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; We’re all unique by definition. But if we want that uniqueness to show up in our work, we need to look for things that resonate deeply with us, not just things that look good to everyone else.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; I grew up in Brazil, in the chaotic, massive city of São Paulo, where I developed a taste for subcultures, urban grit, improvisation and imperfection. The streets are still one of my main sources of inspiration, I take pictures on my daily walks without knowing if they’ll ever be useful. Sometimes they are, often they aren’t. But collecting helps me notice what captivates me and, over time, understand my own taste.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; General culture matters too: art, music, architecture, cinema, literature, history... they all widen the field. But you don’t need a prestigious reference to have a good one. An ordinary scene like a piece of tape holding together a torn poster can be just as interesting.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Pinterest isn’t the problem. The problem is stopping there.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Go outside. Visit a gallery, a street market, a forest. Talk to an older person, to a kid, or to someone from a completely different background. Read a book. Eat street food. Look through old photographs. Look at the stuff you normally walk past. Turn your references upside down. Mix, distort, break, combine, reject. Collect without knowing where it’s going.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Not everything needs to become a “mood”. Sometimes you’re just figuring out what you like.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Use Pinterest. Use whatever you want. Just don’t confuse a platform with the world.
